The Micronics U1000MKII-FM Ultrasonic Fixed Clamp-on Flow Meter is a permanent/ fixed clamp-on metering solution that utilises ultrasonic technology to measure flow rate and total flow from outside the pipe. All models include a volume pulse output; OPTIONAL Modbus OR M-Bus OR 4-20mA flow proportional outputs are also available. Please see the table below for an overview of the U1000MKII-FM models.
The Micronics U1000MKII-FM Ultrasonic Fixed Clamp-on Flow Meter can be used as a stand-alone meter or as part of an integrated management system.
It is simple to install as it has been factory configured and, therefore, requires minimal programming on-site. The user needs only adjust the guide rail and sensor assembly, connect the Micronics U1000MKII-FM Ultrasonic Fixed Clamp-on Flow Meter to the power, and enter the inside diameter of the pipe and the pipe material. Moreover, clamp-on installation and transit-time ultrasonic technology enable non-invasive measurements, eliminating the need for mechanical parts to be inserted into the pipe and/or for the system to be drained or shut down.
The Micronics U1000MKII-FM Ultrasonic Fixed Clamp-on Flow Meter functions by simultaneously transmitting ultrasound between the clamp-on transducers in both directions. When ultrasound is emitted in the direction of flow the speed of the sound is accelerated; when it is emitted in the opposite direction the speed of the sound is decelerated. The time difference between ultrasound emissions is directly proportional to flow velocity. Using the flow velocity and the pipe’s cross-sectional area, the operator can calculate the volumetric flow.
The Micronics U1000MKII-FM Ultrasonic Fixed Clamp-on Flow Meter has a flow range of 0.1m/s to 10m/s (0.3ft/s to 32ft/s) and an accuracy of ±1% to ±3% (for 0.3m/s/ 1ft/s). Please see the video below for an overview of how to use the Micronics U1000MKII-FM Ultrasonic Fixed Clamp-on Flow Meter.
