The NB-IoT module plugs into the module slot of a Kamstrup MULTICAL 403 or 603 and sends readings straight to a reading system over the mobile NB-IoT network, with no gateway on site. Battery life depends on the installation and the NB-IoT coverage level, called the CE level.

Things to know
NB-IoT needs a signal from a mobile network where the meter is fitted. For a MULTICAL 603 an IoT battery module is available, which suits the higher current of the NB-IoT radio.
The MULTICAL 603 has two module slots and the MULTICAL 403 has one. The module fits the slot under the calculator cover, and the cover is marked with the module name, serial number and a QR code.
